BEARIZONA WILDLIFE PARK
1500 E Rte 66, Williams, AZ 86046
“Bearizona is a Wildlife Park featuring a drive through area as well as a walk through area. View animals in natural habitats during your drive. Check out more animals on exhibit in the walk through. There are several animal shows throughout the day.” ― Tripadvisor.com
I will admit I found this attraction by accident. I saw the location on googlemaps while checking out a place to fill an L.P. tank. After doing a little research, I decided to check Bearizona out while running some other errands.
I started my visit with the drive through part of the tour. The road took me past Rocky Mountain Goats, Reindeer, Coues Deer, Bighorn Sheep, and White Bison. But the highlights were the Alaskan Tundra Wolves, Artic Wolves, and Black Bears. I’ve driven through other wildlife parks where dangerous animals were separated from the road by fences or other barriers. Not here, the wolves and bears could (and did) walk in the road right next to your vehicle, the only restriction was windows had to be rolled up, which was a fair ask.
After the drive-through there were more animals to see walking through part two of the park. Here I was excited to see a Beaver, Black Bear cubs playing, Red Fox and American Badgers who were quite active on this coolish morning, and Bobcats. I generally despise Racoons but loved seeing one up in a tree checking out the bear cubs next door. I saw an animal I had never seen before, a Javelina. Unfortunately, the Grizzly Bear(s) were off display while their enclosure was being cleaned.
Before leaving I returned to the drive-through part of the park. Surprisingly to me, I saw more animals on the second trip, including many more wolves and Black Bears.
This was a great discovery, and I would highly recommend making this a stop if you are in the area.
