Introducing Marlys

I have named my fifth wheel trailer Marlys. Marlys was my mother’s name, and she loved camping, so there was never a question that I wanted to dedicate my dream of traveling to her.

Marlys is a 2012 41’ Heartland Bighorn. When I went to look at her, she had many features that I wanted, but didn’t think I’d get. There is an automated leveling system, a washer/dryer combo, and because the previous owner had removed worn out furniture there was room for a computer desk.

When I got her she had not been used in about a year, so there was a lot of cleaning to do. I also put her in the shop to make sure she was road-ready. Thanks to Good Life RV in Bevington, IA, for being amazing to work with. After three trips to the shop, and a couple visits from the tech, she is ready to venture around the country.

She already feels like home.

I pull her with my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, Diesel. A great truck with plenty of power to pull Marlys.
