VERMONT STATE HOUSE
115 State St, Montpelier, VT 05633
“The Vermont State House, located in Montpelier, is the state capitol of the U.S. state of Vermont. It is the seat of the Vermont General Assembly. The current Greek Revival structure is the third building on the same site to be used as the State House.” - Wikipedia
Montpelier is the smallest capital city in America, and the State House is one of the oldest and best preserved of our nation’s capitols. Its House and Senate chambers are the oldest active legislative halls in the United States that have preserved their original interiors. The state has done a wonderful job of maintaining the beautiful building.
I was fortunate to have a former Vermont legislator lead our tour of the State House. We heard the history of the building along with some anecdotal stories of some happenings in the building.
