LAS VEGAS

I came to Las Vegas to get warm after having spent a week at the Grand Canyon. While the daytime temps were fine, it got cold at night. But, it was what it was. I stayed at the Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town, a nice campground about 15 minutes from the Strip. I’ve been to Vegas several times and have stayed on the Strip or on Fremont Street every time, so I decided to see what I could do in Vegas without going to the Strip, other than for one show. I found several things to do and enjoyed my week in Vegas, even if it wasn’t as warm as I would have liked.

Here are a few pics of some things I didn’t think needed their own post.

Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town

I love lights…anywhere. Taking these pics made me happy I didn’t venture down to the strip to try to photograph more lights, as it was too cold to deal with crowds.

“Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” Sign

I’ve been to Vegas many times, but I’ve never found this iconic sign before. I can now say, “Been there, Done that.”

Fremont Street Experience

This area of town has definitely become more commercialized and is trying to attract more people to the area. Hotel/Casinos now have bars outside to serve visitors, there are concerts and a DJ, and several street performers who were confined to circles about six feet in diameter. I just did a quick walk through, took some pictures, and then drove back to my RV.
