THE ALAMO
300 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205
“The Alamo Mission, commonly called the Alamo and originally known as the Misión San Antonio de Valero, is an historic Spanish mission and fortress compound founded in the 18th century by Roman Catholic missionaries in what is now San Antonio, Texas, United States.” - Wikipedia
What can I say about the Alamo? It is easily recognizable. Most people know its significance in both Texas and United States history. The siege of the Alamo lasted 13 days starting on February 23, 1836, and ending with the famous battle on March 6. Each year to celebrate the anniversary the Alamo hosts special events; there was a battle reenactment taking place while I was there. Timed tickets are required to go inside the church where photography is not allowed.
I returned to the Alamo two days after my first visit so I could take some photos of the illuminated church. Arriving a little early, it was interesting to sit and people watch.
