THE SAN ANTONIO RIVER WALK
849 E Commerce St, San Antonio, TX 78205
“The San Antonio River Walk is a city park and special-case pedestrian street in San Antonio, Texas, one level down from the automobile street.” - Wikipedia
Billed as “the #1 attraction in Texas,” the River Walk is a must see in San Antonio, I guess. This was my second visit to this city park, and I’m still wondering why everyone raves about this place. To my thinking it is a 10-foot-wide canal, with narrow sidewalks running alongside expensive restaurants and shopping boutiques. There are occasional statues, a fountain or two, and a museum or two to add to the cultural aspect of the area. A 30-minutes boat cruise gives a little history of the River Walk, but mainly points out many of the businesses along the canal. I believe the River Walk could be fun to help celebrate different holidays or events, for example, it celebrated Mardi Gras last weekend, and purple decorations still adorned some of the bridges crossing the canal.
