MEMPHIS ZOO
2000 Prentiss Pl, Memphis, TN 38112
“The Memphis Zoo is a zoo in Midtown, Memphis, Tennessee, United States. It is home to more than 3,500 animals representing over 500 different species. Created in April 1906, the zoo has been a major tenant of Overton Park for more than 100 years.” - Wikipedia
If asked to describe The Memphis Zoo I would answer, it is a zoo with all the animals one expects to find in a zoo and then some. I enjoyed the cat complex, the hippopotamus, the polar bear, and the Komodo Dragons. I could have spent a whole morning in the Tropical Bird House trying to capture pictures of their diverse birds. Some parts of the zoo look a little dated but overall, the zoo was clean and visitor friendly. This zoo is one that people should not pass by.
