The Las Cruces Museum of Art is a small museum. When I visited there was only on exhibition. “The Desert was Red and Red the Dust Was Raised takes abstraction as its foundation and uses the literal landscape as the thread that connects the exhibition’s five artists—either as reference, as language, or, simply, as location.” The exhibition featured five artists, each with a different style. While the museum and exhibition were small there were some nice pieces.
Two nice things about the Branigan Cultural Center, the Museum of Art, and the Museum of Nature and Science: the three are all next to each other, and the admission was free. The trio provided a nice way to spend a couple hours.
