LAKE RED ROCK

“Lake Red Rock, also referred to as Red Rock Reservoir is a reservoir formed by Red Rock Dam on the Des Moines River, about 41 miles southeast of the city of Des Moines, Iowa, U.S. The dam was completed in 1969 as a Flood control project by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, creating the largest lake in Iowa.” -

I saw a Facebook post about pelicans at Lake Red Rock. I decided to check them out. I was thrilled with what I found. Not only were there pelicans, but Great Blue Herons and White Herons along with gulls and other birds. While I was happy with the pictures I captured on the first trip, I decided to go a couple other times to see if I could improve my skills.
