Gooseberry Falls State Park is a very popular spot on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Arriving around 11:30 am, I wasn’t sure I was going to find a parking space, but after about 15 minutes of driving around I finally snagged one. From the visitors center there are paved trails that lead to either the Upper Falls or Lower Falls.

I started by going to the Upper Falls area. There are some great overlook areas to take pictures of the falls. Good luck taking photos without people in them, as people were everywhere.

Heading down to the Lower Falls, I found even more people. Due to near drought conditions the water levels were low, which allowed people to walk on the rocks which I’m guessing would normally be covered with flowing water.

While still beautiful I’d really like to see these falls in normal conditions. I spent about an hour exploring some of the trails. It would be fun to spend more time on the park’s trails.

Note: After looking at the pictures I’ve uploaded here, it may not seem like there were a lot of people, but believe me I only captured a fraction of the total number of people here.
