GEORGIA AQUARIUM

225 Baker St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

“Georgia Aquarium is a public aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Georgia Aquarium is home to hundreds of species and thousands of animals across its seven major galleries, all of which reside in more than 11 million US gallons of fresh and saltwater.” Wikipedia

Another MUST SEE in Atlanta. I mean, who could not be fascinated by watching Beluga Whales, Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, Hammerhead Sharks, or Sea Turtles swimming around. There we sea lions, puffins, otters, and penguins. I’d walk out of one exhibit thinking it couldn’t get better and then you’d see an aquarium filled with jellyfish, or some other amazing creature of the deep.

One could easily spend four or more hours here, especially if you attend the shows included with the general admission ticket. Eliot and I took in the Sea Lion Show, which was both educational and entertaining. We went on a Thursday morning, and with timed tickets, the crowd was very manageable.

With dark lighting and shooting through aquarium glass, I was a little worried about the quality of my pictures, but I am pleased with some of them. If I lived in the Atlanta area I could see returning to improve my aquarium photography skills (though the cost of admission would limit how often I visited).
