ELK CITY STATE PARK
4825 Squaw Creek Rd, Independence, KS 67301
“Elk City State Park is a state park in Montgomery County, Kansas, United States, located west of Independence. The 857-acre park is adjacent to the 4,500-acre Elk City Reservoir and the 12,000-acre Elk City Wildlife Area.” - Wikipedia
Needed to break up the drive from Branson, MO, to Wichita, KS, and also needed a day to just relax and do some things around the trailer. I wasn’t sure about staying at a state park, but my fears were unfounded. This park had paved spots that were pretty level, and the lake was really nice. I had a very peaceful stay here.
The only issue was there was no television reception, and my WiFi signal was virtually non-existent. But, I made do. Got to take some pictures just for fun.
