DENVER ART MUSEUM
100 W 14th Ave Pkwy, Denver, CO 80204
“The Denver Art Museum is an art museum located in the Civic Center of Denver, Colorado. With encyclopedic collections of more than 70,000 diverse works from across the centuries and world, the DAM is one of the largest art museums between the West Coast and Chicago.” - Wikipedia
As is said above, this museum is large. The main collection is housed on at least 10 different floors. Collections include Western American Art, European Art Before 1800, Asian Art, Latin American Art, Indigenous Art of North America, Architecture and Design, 19th Century European and American Art, and much, much, more.
To be honest, this was my fourth stop of the day, and I was tired before I started my visit. In hindsight, I should have visited on a day when I had more time. That being said, the museum has a wonderful collection, and while some of the collections are not exactly my taste, I was impressed by the diversity of the works. I was excited to see the special exhibit, “Georgia O’Keeffe, Photographer,” and it did not disappoint. The exterior of the building itself is an amazing piece of art.
I would highly recommend this museum to anyone visiting Denver. Take my advice be well rested and give yourself an ample amount of time to enjoy the whole museum.

Special Exhibit
Several of the exhibits were examples of how O'Keeffe would photograph the same thing at different times of day or year. Almost all of the displays were original prints .
A photograph of O'Keeffe by her friend Todd Webb. "Georgia O'Keeffe Photographing the Chama River", 1961. I liked this photo because it showed O'Keeffe didn't use fancy equipment to take her photos.
"The Family of Street Acrobats: The Injured Child", about 1873, Gustave Doré, oil on canvas. I thought this painting was a little eerie until I read the story about it being a depiction of a real event. The characters are street artists.
"Waterlilies", 1904, Claude Monet, oil on canvas
"Fishing Boats", 1883, Claude Monet, oil on canvas
Tulip Armchair (model 150), 1955-57, Eero Saarinen.
Yumi Chair, designed in 2012, fabricated in 2019, Laura Kishimoto. Need three photos to show the uniqueness of this chair.
