And the Journey Begins…

With patience and perseverance dreams can become reality. Today, May 5, 2021, I hitched my fifth wheel trailer to my truck and set off to conquer the world, well, that may be a little exaggerated, but it kind of felt that way to me as I drove down I-80 east of Des Moines. My journey has begun!

To be fair, I strategically only drove about two hours, landing at the Amana RV Park and Event Center. My plan is to tour Iowa for the next two or three weeks as I establish a routine to help me with my goal of visiting at least 10 sites in each of the 48 continental United States in the next two years.

Thank you to all the people who have supported and encouraged me in the pursuit of my dream.

Today I made only one touristy stop, the Amana Meat Shop and Smokehouse, where I spent $42 on some brats, bacon, smoked pork loin chops, German-style mustard, and some pickled eggs. I don't know if I should consider the purchase souvenirs or groceries.

I have no idea what I'm doing tomorrow, and I'm ok with that.

At a rest area along I-80 east of Des Moines, IA.
