CITYGARDEN SCULPTURE PARK
801 Market St, St. Louis, Missouri 63101
“Citygarden is an urban park and sculpture garden in St. Louis, Missouri owned by the City of St. Louis but maintained by the Gateway Foundation. It is located between Eighth, Tenth, Market, and Chestnut streets, in the city's "Gateway Mall" area.” Wikipedia
While researching what else I could see in the area of the Gateway Arch, I discovered Citygarden only two blocks from the Old Courthouse.
Citygarden is a sculpture park with pieces of art that people are encouraged to interact with, touch, crawl upon, etc. There are also some awesome green spaces and a lot of shade, which would make it a perfect place to relax for a while, maybe have a picnic, whether visiting downtown or working in the area.
While not a Citygarden, this statue of Frankie Muse Freeman is between the Old Courthouse and Citygarden. Freeman was an American civil rights attorney, and the first woman to be appointed to the United States Commission on Civil Rights.
