CHENEY STATE PARK
16000 NE 50 St, Cheney, KS 67025
“Cheney State Park is a state park of Kansas in the United States. Completed in 1964, the park is located in Kingman and Reno counties in Kansas, 5 miles north of Cheney and 20 miles west of Wichita.” - Wikipedia
While visiting Wichita, I stayed at Cheney State Park. It was about a 30 minute drive into Wichita each day to go site-seeing, and when I got back to the campground in the late afternoon it was too hot to do much outside, so other than driving around, I didn’t do a lot of exploring of the park, which was very popular with boaters. I did take a few pictures, including a beautiful sunset.
This is how I what I had envisioned Kansas roads would look like...a long, straight road with wheat fields on both sides.
Not my campsite, but I'd love to have this one.
Boaters having fun.
Tubing behind a jet ski.
Sunset. I love how the fishermen and the canoers were silhouetted in this shot.
