CHATTANOOGA ZOO
301 N Holtzclaw Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404
“The Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park is a 13-acre zoological park located in Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The zoo was established in 1937 by the City of Chattanooga with the construction of two 4 by 6 feet cages for rhesus monkeys.” - Wikipedia
If I’m honest with myself, I expected to be disappointed by this zoo. It is a relatively small zoo, but has a nice selection of wildlife, and in the end, I had a nice visit. One of the things I like about small zoos is the ability to make multiple passes by exhibits to see if things have changed. On my first pass by the Cougars, they were nowhere in sight, but on my second both were up and active. The Chimpanzees were one of my highlights, along with the monkeys and the Snow Leopard. There is some construction as you enter the zoo, but I don’t believe it caused any animals to be off-exhibit, and I think the new area will enhance visits.
