CICI AND HYATT BROWN MUSEUM OF ART
352 S Nova Rd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114
“Airy museum featuring a huge collection of Florida-themed paintings, plus a gift shop & cafe.” Google
This art museum is located in the same area as the Museum of Arts & Sciences. One can visit each museum separately, or do as I did and purchase a combination ticket which allows entrance into both.
The Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art is home to the world’s largest collection of Florida art. Either the subject or the artist has to have a Florida tie. Believe me this does not limit the amount of beautiful artwork that can be displayed. Beyond the permanent gallery there were galleries dedicated to Volusia County (the home county of the museum and Daytona Beach), the Seminoles and the Everglades, Florida weather, and one called “Gone Fishin’.”
With me finishing my tour of Florida I could relate to many of the pieces of art on display. The museum isn’t very large and I circled through the galleries twice, finding more pieces I liked on my second loop. I certainly enjoyed this museum.
